Subsequent tech ventures included Jason's idea for the .pro extension and the RegistryPro domain registry, which started as a JV between his company Virtual Internet plc and Register.com, Inc. in 2000. Ernie Moody is an American Gaming Association Gaming Hall of Fame inductee and the person credited with changing the landscape of the video poker industry.
While operating the Colorado-based Gilpin Casino in the 1990s, he conceived novel ideas that would give new life to video poker. Just one of his ideas, based on a multi-hand poker concept, transformed low-earning games into highly profitable games currently found on over 5% of America's land-based casino slot machines.
He went on to develop innovative video poker games that generated 3 to 5 times the house average revenue, including Triple Play Poker. While typical slot machines might have a life of 6 to 12 months, some of his original video poker games are still being played 20 years later.
Ernie founded Action Gaming, which is where he has continued to invent and develop slot machine and video poker content for the last 20 years that has become commonplace in almost every US-based casino.
Today, around 20,000 slot machines across North America utilize his patents and inventions, which include Five Play Poker, Spin Poker, Super Times Pay Poker, Ultimate X Poker, All-Star Poker, Super-Star Poker and other unique games.
Ernie and his company also created the free-play VideoPoker.com site, which has 450,000+ members and is used to launch the newest video poker games before they arrive in a land-based casino.
